“The Master then gave orders, that all of them together, mystically forming one body with Him their Head, should advance toward the enemies, thereby teaching them the power of mutual and perfect unity for overcoming the demons and their followers and for avoiding defeat by them.  For a triple cord is hard to tear, as says Ecclesiastes (4, 12), and he that is mighty against one, may be overcome by two, that being the effect of union.”

ISOC Pilgrimages

"Our Blessed Mother and her Divine Son must be very happy with the great turnout of the pilgrimage. You made the supreme effort. I am sure we will all see wonderful results in the years to come. Thank you for everything."

Olive Boyle, Surprise, AZ

The first of the annual "In the Spirit of Chartres" Committe Pilgrimages took place on February 21, 1998 with the Reverend Ronald Ringrose leading pilgrims in prayer, on a five-mile journey through downtown Phoenix, and celebrating the Mass of All Times outdoors in a Phoenix Park. The reason for an outdoor Mass in a park?  The Bishop of Phoenix would not allow the Tridentine Mass to be said in any of the diocesean churches, most particularly the minor basilica, St. Mary's, the church designated as the pilgrims significant destination.

For the next four years, ISOC continued the time-honored custom made to obtain grace, to strenthen Faith, to gain a special benefit, to fulfill a vow, and/or to execute a penitential task

Each year, the celebrating priest heard confessions before, during, and after the procession, which according to the ISOC spiritual director, was an all important reason for organizing the pilgrimage.

For more information about the pilgrimages, or to help you organize one in your home town, please see the video, The Making of the Phoenix Pilgrimages.  The video can be ordered for $10.00 plus $3.00 shipping and handling.

Please consider organizing a pilgrimage or Rosary procession in your home town.  If you need help, feel free to call ISOC at 757-925-7904.  We'd be happy to help.  Nothing could please Our Lady more than processions in her Son's honor.
